Follow these tips to get a much faster and more reliable PC!!


Free up disk space:- Disk Cleanup in properties of your hard disk helps you to free up space by deleting unwanted files and folders. This tip is most useful in Vista and Windows 7 as in these Operating Systems G.B(Giga bytes) of space are free up.

Turn off Animations:- In your PC go to Display Settings from the desktop/Control Panel and switch to  Effects Tab. Now turn off Show Windows Content While Dragging and Smooth Edges on Screen Fonts.  This tip is also helpful with Windows-XP because of the various fade/scroll effects.

Minimizing:- If you want to use several programs at a same time then minimize those programs which you are not using. This helps reduce the overloading of  RAM(Random Access Memory).

Drivers:- Keep updating your hardware drivers  frequently as possible.  New drivers are supposed to increase system speed especially in the case of graphics cards, their drivers are updated by  manufacturer very frequently.

Boot faster:- While starting Windows 98/XP/Vista/Windows-7 messages and loading of programs at start-up can delay your booting for a couple of seconds or even minutes.  To get rid of this message go to "C:\" drive (or your drive containing operating system) and find the file msdos.sys. Remove the Read-Only option in properties. Next, open it in Notepad or any other text editor.  Finally, go to the text 'Options' within the file and make the following changes: Add bootdelay=0. To make your booting even faster, set add logo=0 to remove windows logo at start-up of your computer.


Restart only Windows:- If you are going to restart your PC then hold Shift to restart only Windows rather than whole system which take less time to Restart and Your PC Restarts with less load.

Uninstall Unwanted Programs:- You can remove those programs which you no longer use, It reduces load of your PC in high rate and makes your system comparatively fast.

Internet Access:- If you use  internet for reference and  sites your visit are rarely  updated then try this in  Interne Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options.  Next, click on Settings in the Temporary Internet Files  section.  Lastly, select Never for the first option and double the amount of storage space to use &  click on OK.

De-fragmentation of Drive:- This option is available on hard drive properties in tools tab [Here are other more options are to free up Space] or you cal also get in your Computer properties by clicking manage option.


Ejecting CD Drive: Instead of pressing the button on your drive just right-click your CD drive in My Computer & click on Eject or simply click on your CD drive and Eject button will appear on top of windows.  This  removes any icons that have been associated with the CD drive.


RAM(Random Acess Memory):- If you have have RAM less then 1 G.B you must think of upgrading it to at least 1 G.B or even more. It may be the main reason that your system is slow. If this is problem then you must hurry up!

Start-up Programs:- If you have unnecessary programs on start-up and it make you to wait for long time for starting your PC and starting your work then you can remove it and it will increase of your PC too.

Wallpapers:- Wallpapers with animations slow down your whole system, so if you're willing to compromise, have a basic plain one instead on your desktop.

Remove Temporary Files:- You can speedup your system by deleting temporary file, internet temproary files, removing windows temporary files, deleting windows optional components which you don't need, deleting unused restore points etc..



Fonts:- If you have lot of fonts installed on your PC then it might also be reason that your system is slow. Go to c:\windows\fonts and remove or delete all those fonts which you don't need.
